A simple random sampling technique was adopted in selecting 597 respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistical tool was used to answer the question and hypothesis raised. Thus, it was recommended that secondary education should be designed to be problem-solving in nature and curriculum to avoid bank deposition of knowledge by the teachers.

The relevance of moral education in tackling corruption for national development
(Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education and Development in Human Kinetics Education, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2013) Amali, Ismaila, O.O.; Yusuf, AbdulRaheem; Bello, Muhinat Bolanle
Nigeria is again passing through a difficult moment with a chain of embarrassments in the National Assembly. Although corrupt practices have been a recurring decimal in the nation’s political history, its rate and dimension since the resurgence of civil rule in 1999 is going beyond acceptable level in the country. The politicians are increasingly thinking that political office is a sure means of getting rich and they are not concerned about the impact of their unethical behaviours on the society. There have been waves of social restructuring and reforming to curb the corruption syndrome but the increasing social malaise calls for a re-examination of anti-corruption strategy. This paper, thus, focuses on character and moral education of the youths as a new paradigm for tackling corruption in Nigeria so as to attain sustainable development.

Understanding positive and negative uses of social media among University undergraduates: Sociological perspectives
(The College of Education, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2015) Bello, Muhinat Bolanle; Akintola, Mubarak; Uyanne, E. O
This paper is theoretical in scope as it highlights the positive and negative uses of social media among University Undergraduates in Nigeria. In a bid to understand the dimensional usage of social media, this paper draws from sociological perspectives, asserting that no sociologist would approach the study of social life without making a choice from the pool of perspectives available. Thus, this paper employed an eclectic approach in recognition of the postmodern era of the global society which entails that theoretical analysis using old sociological theories would not suffice but postmodern theories for a postmodern world. The tripartite theories analysed in this paper are to assist in forging understanding on the global phenomenon of social media and its implication on education and also serve as the underpinnings for the literature review on social media studies. This paper concluded that social media is a symbol of evolution in university education and society at large, dangling between innovation (transformation of Nigerian education) and stability (preservation of Nigerian education). The implication is that university education and society are walking on a tight rope between system that maintains stability, preserving its educational system and integrating values driven by social media which may akin to anarchy if not efficiently channeled.
