The knowledge of earth sciences is useful in the management of climate change, natural resources, including water, mineral and fossil fuels. The application of various aspects of earth sciences is pivotal in ecosystem and biodiversity conservation, soil health, sustainable agriculture and mitigation of natural disasters. In recent times, interdisciplinary approaches have been greatly utilised in understanding the exploration and exploitation of natural resources and their effect on human life. The aim of this study was to understand natural systems and make informed decisions that contribute to the health of humanity.
