    Awareness and Use of Online Public Access Catalogue by Postgraduate Students in University of llorin Library

    Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is the most effective information retrieval tool yet awareness and its use among post graduate students is low. The paper investigated the awareness and use of Online Public Access Catalogue (0PAC) among postgraduate students in the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences (CIS) of University of llorin. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and stratified random sampling method was applied to select 173 postgraduate students in the faculty of CIS. Questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. I58 out of 173 copies of questionnaire were filled and returned for analysis. The findings revealed majority (70.2%) of the respondents were awore of OPAC. Also, majority (69%) of respondents used title approach for searching information in OPAC. However, majority of the respondents lacked information searching skills. The study recommends among others, OPAC user education to ensure maximum utilization of library resources and reqular training on the use of OPAC to heighten user awareness.
