A research question was answered in this study, while the hypotheses were also tested at 0.05 levels of significance. The varying collected data were analyzed using t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical methods. Undergraduate students’ sources of information were mostly from the Internet than interacting with people, and they believed gaining more academically online than interacting with people. Meanwhile, the results were not varied based on the respondents’ age, levels of study, religion, and gender. It is necessary to develop a sound and wide range of activities that will reduce cyber relation addiction, which in turn promote psychological wellbeing among undergraduates. Interpersonal relationship skills training should be conducted for cyber-addicted adolescents to observe its impacts on cyber relational addiction.Item Influence of peer pressure on delinquent behaviours of in-school adolescents in Kwara State.(Department of Counsellor Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2021) Ajokpaniovo, M.; Awoyemi, A. O.; Okesina, F. A.; Anyanwu, F.Adolescents have needs and problems that arise from organic, psychological and social pressures. These pressures in turn exert influences on them, which makes them exhibit behaviours that are not in consonance with the societal norms leading to delinquency. This might be the reasons why in-school adolescents involve themselves in delinquent behaviours such as examination malpractice, bullying, stealing, truancy, destruction of school properties and even drug use. The problem of delinquent behaviour affects in-school adolescents irrespective of gender, family type and parents’ literacy level though the degree and magnitude vary from school to school. Thus, this situation calls for concern in order to avert further challenges the phenomenon could exert on the society. This paper examined the influence of peer pressure on delinquent behaviour as expressed by in-school adolescents in Kwara State. A researcher deigned questionnaire entitled “Peer Pressure and Delinquent Behaviour Questionnaire (PPADBQ)” was used to collect necessary data for the study. The t-test was used to test the three null hypotheses. Two were accepted while one was rejected. The findings of this study showed that peer pressure did not exert much influence on delinquent behaviour as expressed by in-school adolescents in Kwara State. Based on the findings, it was recommended amongst others that school authorities should reinforce in her mode of enforcing school rules and regulations as this will go a long way to reduce students’ misbehaviours in school.Item Influence of social media on academic performance of secondary school students in Obafemi Owode LGA, Ogun State(Department of Educational Foundations, Federal Univrsity, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, 2021-12) Awoyemi, A. The paper also highlights the concept of suicidal ideation, types of suicidal ideation, warning signs of suicidal ideation, prevalence of suicidal ideation, and strategies for reducing the menace of suicidal ideation. Based on the suggestions made in this paper; government and education stakeholders should help in the training and retraining of school counsellors in tackling the menace of suicidal ideation among university students; University based-mental health services should be established in various universities in Nigeria and these services should aim at finding out and taking care of those with mental health illness and prevent the incidents of suicidal ideation.
