A Theological Narrative of Gen. 13:7-12 in the Context of Restructuring Nigeria.
(Nigerian Association for the Study of Religions., 2019) Adeyeye, Agnes Omotayo
We live in a world of conflicts that is characterized by loss of lives and property that could not be estimated or quantified in terms of money. When Abraham in Gen 13: 7-12 went back to Canaan and came to the region around Bethel, there was friction between his herders and those of his nephew Lot. A division had to be made because of the scarcity of land. The task of this paper is on how to apply deductions from this narrative into the agitation for restructuring in the Nigerian context. Narratives and analytical methods were explored. From the analysis of the above biblical text, it was found that the age-long conflicts between herders and farmers are not intractable. An adaptation of the conflict resolution in the text under review will go a long way in solving our domestic perennial clashes between these parties. Therefore, it is recommended that Sambisa grazing reserve will be an ideal place for the Ruga Programme or ranching centers for the herders or better still, be the nomadic they use to be. Keywords: Theology, Restructuring, Nigeria, Canaan and Ruga Programme.

An Examination of the Impacts of Religion in Nation Building
(Kwasu Journal of Islamic, Christian and Comparative Studies, 2018-04) Adeyeye, Agnes Omotayo; Ajetomobi, Olumuyiwa Aduralere
For decades, the desire to build a just, orderly, peaceful and progressive society has been uppermost in the minds of Nigerian leaders. But due to external influences on them, their mission and vision continue to remain a mirage. These influences coupled with high level of corruption, poverty and selfishness, lack of contentment increased their problems. This made the Nigerian leaders derail from their avowed vision and mission with the result that at the end of a leader’s tenure little or no progress would have been made. Corruption, poverty, selfishness and other social vices would be on the increase. Hence, the goal of nation building is not achieved. This is causing grave concern to well-meaning members of the society. Religion’s stern qualities of sincerity, honesty, selfless service to humanity, contentment among other qualities appear to be a better alternative for building a progressive and a sustainable society. The paper adopted analytical and descriptive methods in order to achieve the purpose of the paper. The findings of the study validate the fact that a progressive society anchored on the afore-mentioned qualities which are essential for building a progressive Nigerian Society. These qualities are the core teachings of every religion. The study further discovered some vital innate qualities in religion that make for sincerity of purpose, contentment and selfless services irrespective of internal and external factors. This paper asserts that it is wise and realistic for the multi religious society of Nigeria to look into the common values inherent in the various religions towards a viable and peaceful coexistence capable of enhancing holistic development of the nation.

Principle of Good leadership: Jesus as a model
(Ajayi Crowther University Journal of Religious Studies, 2023-07) Adeyeye, Agnes Omotayo; Isaac, Jesuvi Julius
The growth, development, progress and success of any organization or nation depends on her leadership. A peaceful society is a reflection of good leadership. On the other hand, a conflicting society portrays the type of leadership governing such a society, whether a good leader or a bad one. This is clearly seen in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular, which is confronted with several challenges such as poverty, insecurity, politico-economic instability and conflict, among many others. It is of note that the myriad problems in human society are leadership, many of whom are devoid of the understanding of the principles of good leadership; thus, they become selfish, corrupt, greedy, transparent, cruel, and lack genuine love for the people they are leading or governing. The thrust of this paper is a call for the understanding of the principles of good leadership using Jesus Christ as a model. The paper discovered that a major problem facing human society is the lack of good leadership. The paper recommends that leaders imbibe principles of good leadership used by great religious leaders such as Jesus Christ to have a good and desirable society.

Prophecy and Inspiration in Christianity: any relationship ?
(Department of Religion and Cultural Studies, Benue State University, Makurdi., 2020-03) Adeyeye, Agnes Omotayo; Isaac, Jesuvi Julius
Prophecy which is the fore-telling and forth-telling of what is to come has been playing vital role in the society. People do consult prophets to know what the future holds for them. The prophets are also known as veers. They claimed that messages are communicated to them by God. This acclaimed message is known as prophecy. But who is a prophet? How does he receive the message? Often the Prophet claims being inspired to prophesize. This implies that inspiration plays certain roles in prophecy. Therefore, the probing questions are: What is a prophecy? How does a prophet receive the message? What relationship exists between prophecy and inspiration? Can it be separated? These are basically the thrust of this paper. The writers discovered that there is a strong cord relationship between prophecy and inspiration. The methodology adopted in this work was historical. The work recommends that the Prophet who is the medium through which the message (prophecy) is been delivered to the recipients should wait on the Lord und be truly inspired before communicating the message.

(UDUS Law Journal, 2020) Adeyeye, Agnes Omotayo; Adeyeye, Joel Adelusi
This article undertakes a critical study of the religious beliefs of parents as it affects the rights of the child. Every human being, be it an adult, male or female has rights that are domiciled in him/her as a creator of God. Children for being what they are cannot on their own enforce these rights. Right from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and other international legal instruments, to the Regional legal instruments like the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights; the sub regional legal instrument like the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to the domestic law of each country; for example, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended); The child's Rights Act, 2003 and which various States of the Federation has domesticate these Law. This article therefore seeks to interrogate these laws as a result of the recent decision of the Supreme Court of Nigeria's decision in the case Esabunory Fayewa|20191 7 NWLR (pt 1671) 316. It is recommended that the government should review the aspect of age disparity in our Laws with a view to making a particular age workable for the purpose of implementing the Child Rights Act. In interrogating these Laws, judicial pronouncements from other jurisdictions other than Nigeria shall also be considered.
