Item Corporate culture and lecturers’ job commitment in federal universities in south-west geo-political zone, Nigeria(Faculty of Education, University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt., 2019) Abdulkareem, R. L.Corporate culture plays significant role in lecturers) commitment which is paramount to university goal achievement. There is general opinion that university lecturers) commitment is low, thus necessitating this study. The study is therefore designed to investigate if there is any relationship between corporate culture and lecturers) job commitment in South-west geo-political zone. The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between corporate culture (values) norms and practice) and lecturers' job commitment in South-west geo-political zone. Two research questions) one main hypothesis and three operational hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted in carrying out this study. The population of the study comprised all 4) 951 lecturers of five federal universities in South-west Geo-political zone, Nigeria. Proportional sampling technique was used to select 1,361 lecturers from all the faculties in the five federal universities in South-west Geo-political zone) Nigeria. A researcher designed questionnaire was used for data collection. The questionnaire was used to elicit information on corporate culture and lecturers' job commitment. It was validated by two expert while the coefficient of variation of 0.57 showed that instrument was reliable .. The research questions were answered using mean while Pearson's Product Moment Correlation statistics was used to test the hypotheses formulated. The findings of the study indicated that tip is significant relationship among corporate culture (values, ere and practices) and) lecturers' job commitment in South-west Geo- political zone, Nigeria. The study concluded that to enhance lecturers' job commitment, stronger corporate culture must be put in place. L.The effectiveness of sandwich programme has been an ongoing debate among University of Ilorin stakeholders with the bulk of the blame on lecturers' commitment level compared to that of regular programme. Thus this study investigated the commitment of lecturers in relation to the effectiveness of Sandwich programme in University of florin. The main purpose id to investigate the relationship between lecturers' commitment (affective, continuance and normative) and effectiveness of sandwich programme in University of florin. One main hypothesis and three operational hypotheses were set to guide the study. The population of the study comprised all the 1732 academic staff in University of florin. Purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 305 lecturers involved in teaching sandwich students in University of florin.. A Researcher-designed questionnaire titled "Lecturers' Commitment Questionnaire (LCQ)" was used to collect information on lecturers' commitment while a Student Academic Performance Pro-forma (SAPP) was used to collect the performance of Sandwich students that graduated between 2014 to 2018 contact sessions. The students' academic performance was used to measure the sandwich programme effectiveness. The finding is that there is no relationship between lecturers' commitment (affective, continuance and normative) and effectiveness of Sandwich programme in University of florin. The study concluded that effectiveness of Sandwich programme is the utmost priority of the management of University of florin and this can only be achieved if the lecturers are committed.Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended that University administration should ensure that placement, appointment allowances, commendation, recognition and promotion should be based on achievement not by ascription to improve the lecturers' commitment to the programme.Item Principals’ personnel management practices and teachers’ job performance in Ilorin-west local government area, Kwara State(University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt, 2019) Abdulkareem, R. L.Teachers are the main actor when it comes to the achievement of educational objectives . Their performance make or mare the success of schools. Thus, it is necessary to ensure that personnel within school are well managed. This necessitated this study. The main purpose of this study investigate the relationship between principals' personnel management practices ( staff placement, discipline motivation and motivation) and teachers' job performance in Ilorin-west secondary schools, Kwara state.. Two research questions, one main and four operational hypotheses were designed to guide the study. Descriptive research design was adopted. The population of the study consists 894 teachers and 5001 students in Ilorin-west LGA of Kwara State. The sample of the study was 269 teachers, which was selected using proportional sampling technique according to Kreijcie and Morgan sample determination table (1970). Simple random sampling technique was also used to select 265 students. There were two instrument designed for this study. Two Researchers-designed questionnaires titled ''Principal Personnel Management Practice Questionnaire' ' which is to be responded to by the teachers and "Teachers ' Job Performance Questionnaire ". Which is to be responded to by the students.. The questionnaires were given to two experts from Department of Educational management to ascertain the face and content validity. The reliability of the instruments was ensured by test-retest method and the correlation coefficient of variation of the instrument was 0.67 and O. 61. Mean was used to answer the research questions while Pearson's product moment correlation statistic was used to test all the hypotheses at 0. 05 level of significance. The findings include that there was significant relationship between principals' personnel management practices (staff placement, discipline, motivation and motivation)and teachers' job performance in florin west LGA secondary schools, Kwara state. ft was therefore recommended that government should ensure that principals employed are qualified human resource managers so as to ensure proper supervision, motivation, discipline, placement in the schools.Item Quality assurance and teachers’ productivity in Kwara State secondary schools(Department of Educational Management , University of Ilorin, 2020) Abdulkareem, R. L.The poor performance of secondary school student in external examinations over the year has shown that teachers' productivity in Kwara state secondary schools is low. Thus there is need to ensure high teachers' productivity through appropriate quality assurance strategies. This study therefore investigated the relationship between quality assurance strategies and teachers' productivity in Kwara State secondary schools. Two research questions, one main hypothesis and three operational hypotheses were set to guide the study. Descriptive research design was adopted The sample of the study was 364 out 6,894 teachers in 347 secondary schools in Kwara State. A researcher-designed questionnaire was used to elicit information about quality assurance strategies while student academic performance proforma was used to collect WAEC s Senior School Certificate Examination for five years (used to determine the level of teachers' productivity). Three experts validated the questionnaire while crumbach alpha was used to ascertain the reliability of the instrument at 0. 68. Mean and percentage were used to answer the research questions while Pearson 'sProduct moment correlation statistic was used to test the hypotheses formulated. It wasfound out that there is significant relationship between quality assurance strategies (quality control, inspection and supervision) and teachers'; productivity in Kwara State secondary schools. It was recommended that education supervisors should be frequent and functional in schools inspection while the principal should pay regular visit to the classes in order to ensure quality of classroom delivery.,Item Relationship between corporate image and employability of polytechnic graduates in Kwara State(University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt, 2020) Abdulkareem, R. L.The gap between what the employers of labour want in prospective employees and the skill possess by polytechnic graduates in Kwara state has been a great concern to its stakeholders, hence it’s necessary to investigate the relationship between corporate image and employability of polytechnic graduates in Kwara State. The purpose of the study is mainly to: investigate corporate image and employability of graduates of polytechnics in Kwara State. Two research questions and four operational hypotheses were set to guide the study. The population of the study consist 699 owners of private organizations and 503 Directors of Administration in the Ministries in Kwara state. The sample of the study was 306 respondents out of the total 1202. The sample was selected using proportional sampling technique with the aid of Research Advisor (2006) sample determination table. The validity of the instrument was ensured by given the draft copies to the researcher’s supervisor and three other experts from the Department of Educational Management, University of Ilorin. The reliability of the instrument was ensure using Crumbach Alpha and the reliability value was 0.64. Percentage was used to answer the research questions while Pearson moment correlation statistic was used to test the hypotheses formulated. The findings of the study include; the image of polytechnics in Kwara state is fairly good (34. 97% ); polytechnic graduates in Kwara state are lowly employable (68.30%);there is relationship between academic integrity and employability of polytechnic graduates in Kwara state (r = 0.67; P < 0.05);there is relationship between students’ conduct and employability of polytechnic graduates in Kwara state (r = 0.78.; P < 0.05); there is relationship between admission process and employability of polytechnic graduates in Kwara state(r = 0.63; P < 0.05); there is relationship between quality of graduates and employability of polytechnic graduates in Kwara state; (r = 0.77; P < 0.05); It was therefore recommended that: strict disciplinary measures should be put in place to improve academic integrity and admission process should be improved upon by putting functional mechanisms in place.Item School climate and teachers’ effectiveness in Kwara State secondary schools, Nigeria(Faculty of Education , Al-hikmah University, 2016) Abdulkareem, R. L.The purpose of this study was to find out if there was any significant relationship between school climate and teachers' effectiveness inIlorin West Local Government Area secondary schools. To guide the study one main and one operational hypotheses were formulated. A descriptive research design of survey type was adopted for the study. Ten schools were surveyed and a total of 200 teachers in total were randomly chosen. The instruments used for data collection were "School Climate Questionnaire " (SCQ) and "Students' Academic Performance Proforma " (SAPP). The main hypothesis formulated was tested using Pearson Moment correlation technique because it dealt with relationship between two variables and the operational hypothesis was tested using t-test because it dealt with difference between two variables. The findings revealed that; there was a significant relationship between school climate and teachers' effectiveness in Kwara State Secondary Schools, there was significant difference between teachers' effectiveness in schools open climate and teacher also a effectiveness in schools with closed climate in Kwara State secondary schools. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that principals should involve teachers in decision-making process, not operate a fixed and flexible schedule and strive to promote group spirit among teachers.Item Students’ assessment of google classroom as an instructional medium in University of Ilorin, Nigeria. L.The importance of Google Classroom in online teaching and learning process cannot be over emphasized. It efficiency and effectiveness is hindered by many factors militating against it. Thus, this study assessed the Google Classroom as an instructional medium in university of Ilorin. Four research questions were set to guide the study. The research design adopted for this study was a descriptive research design. The sample of the study consists 380 students were randomly selected across ten faculties of the university. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire titled “Assessment of Google Classroom as an Instructional Medium Questionnaire (AGCIMQ)”. The face and content validity of the questionnaire was ascertain by one expert in Educational Management and two experts in Measurement and Evaluation. Crumbach alpha was used to ascertain the reliability of the instrument with reliability value of 0.70. The data collected were analyzed using percentage. The findings revealed that Google classroom is available and functional as an instructional medium in University of Ilorin, Google classroom is moderately accessible as an instructional medium in University of Ilorin, the platforms for Google classroom include mobile phones, laptops, personal computer and Tablet PC are while computer laboratory, cyber café and E-library services are not utilized as platforms for Google classroom in University of Ilorin, the level of usability of Google classroom as an instructional medium in University of Ilorin is moderately utilised. Furthermore, the findings indicated that the main barriers militating against the use of Google classroom as an instructional medium in University of Ilorin include inadequate power supply, erratic internet connectivity, inadequate provision of computer devices, lack of incentives by the University, lack of technical knowledge in the use of Google classroom, lack of technological support for system for effective use of Google classroom and heavy workload of lecturers. It was therefore recommended that Internet connection should be made to be affordable for both the students and lecturers in having access to Google Classroom as an instructional medium in the University of Ilorin and capacity building training should be organized for staffs and students on the effective use of Google Classroom as instructional medium in teaching and learning.Item UNIFIED SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY IMPLEMENTATION AND PUBLIC SECONDRAY SCHOOL STUDENTS’ CONDUCT IN OSUN STATE, NIGERIA(Revista de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación., 2025-04-28) Abdulkareem, R. L.; Ogungbade, O. K.; Adesina, O. A.April 28, 2025Abstract One of the main objectives of secondary school education is the development of students both in character and learning. Thus, this should also form one of the basis for any policy related to school. Thus, this study investigated unified school uniform policy implementation and students’ conduct in Public secondary schools in Osun State. Two research questions, one main hypothesis and four operational hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Descriptive research design was adopted to carry out the study. The population of this study comprise 7984 teachers in 397 public secondary schools in Osun State. The secondary schools were categorized into the three senatorial districts using stratified random sampling techniques. Proportionate sampling technique, using Research Advisor (2016) sample size determination table was adopted to select 106 teachers from Osun-west, 174 teachers from Osun-central and 90 teachers from Osun east senatorial districts respectively. The sample of the study was therefore 370 teachers in the state. A researcher-designed questionnaire (with reliability coefficient of the instrument is 0.75) was used for data collection. Percentage was used to answer the research questions while t-test was used to test the hypotheses formulated. The findings of the study include the following: students’ attendance, truancy, cultism and examination malpractice during unified policy implementation is just above average; students’ attendance, truancy, cultism and examination malpractice after unified policy implementation is just below average; there is significant difference between the students’’ conduct during and after the implementation of unified school uniform policy implementation; the disbursement of unique school uniforms to schools to serve the social demand of the populace; Marking of attendance should be given more priority and the observations should be followed up; and effort should be made by the school authorities to curb truancy among students.
