Item Airport Development and Social-Economic Development of Nigeria(2013-06-01) AUN Isaac IortimbirThe study examined the role of aiport infrastructural development on socio-economic development of the country and adopted a descriptive survey study methodology, using questionnaire to collect required data. Systematic random sampling techniques were used in selecting the participating staff in the Airport. The data were presented by means of simple percentages and tables respectively, while spearman rank correlation coefficient was used in testing the formulated hypotheses. The result reveals that, there is correlation between airport infrastructure development and socio-economic development of the country. The study concludes that, for any proper achievement to be achieve in aviation sector, government must step up its contribution, regulation and due process must be followed in awarding of contracts and making decisions that relates to the development of aviation in the country. In view of this, the study recommends that, capable hands should be employed in the aviation industry.
