Item Comparative Analysis on Male and Female Youths Empowerment in Nigeria(Bayero Journal of Management Sciences, 2019-06-01) AKINTAN, Akinyemi Akindele; OLADIPO, Ganiyu Taiwo; ALIYU, Mustapha Olanrewaju; OLATUNDE, Oluwaseyi IderaolaThe paper examined and analyzed the role of entrepreneurship trait on male and female youth empowerment in Nigeria using secondary data from National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The data were extracted from the six (6) states in south western part of Nigeria between 2013 and 2014. The collected data were analyzed using t-test and bar-chart tool with the aid of Microsoft Excel 2007. The findings revealed that there is a statistical significant difference male and female youth empowerment in Nigeria because the calculated t-test value of -0.3040 is greater than the tabulated t-test value of -2.131 at 5 percent significant level. The implication of the findings is that male and female youth empowerment differs in Nigeria in terms of it low percentage contributing effect of 30.40 percent of entrepreneurship traits with the female gender having the most advantageous effect due to inadequate entrepreneurship training centres that can covers a wide varieties of training for youth in the country.Item INDUSTRIAL CONFLICT AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION SPECTRUMS IN NIGERIAN DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS(Journal of Advances in Management, 2016-08-01) ALIYU, Mustapha Olanrewaju; AGUNBIADE, Asimiyu Kola; GALADIMA, HarunaConflict management is very important practice in every organization. The inability of an organization to properly manage its conflict situation resulted to employee turnover, low productivity, stress, low morale and can damage management credibility. This study aimed at examining industrial conflict management in Nigerian Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) suggesting alternative dispute resolution spectrums. The descriptive survey design was employed in this study by collecting data from a defined population. The population of this study consists of the entire staff of fifteen (15) listed and licensed registered Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria. Data obtained were analyzed and presented using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Chi-Square analysis were used to test the hypotheses formulated for the study. The result shows that conflict is inevitable as X2 calculated is greater than X2 tabulated, (8.72 > 0.4877) and (6.57 > 0.4877) at 5% confidence level and 4 degree of freedom showing that an effective channels of lodging grievances and conflicts are effectively managed. The study concluded that conflict is one of the factors contributing to the problem affecting every organization and therefore recommends that the organization should ensure a rational process in dealing with conflict, creates friendly and enabling working relationship and teamwork to minimize internal conflict, facilitates internal coordination and ensure effective communication in the organization.Item RESEARCH AND TRAINING AS PANACEA FOR UNLOCKING HUMAN POTENTIAL FOR SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA(Ilorin Journal of Human Resource Management, 2017-03-01) ABOGUNRIN, Abiodun Peter; ALIYU, Mustapha Olanrewaju; ABOGUNRIN, Omolade OyindamolaResearch and training has occupied a position of priority in corporate world for achieving set goals but what has not been common in the quest for developing nations like Nigeria to create sustainable economic development is optimal use of potential hugely deposited in human resources. Yet, people of a nation are the ones responsible for the development of their lots through continuous improvement on themselves. In this paper, research and training is conceptualized linking economic development to research and training of human resources in all facet of economic life. The paper suggested that human potential available in every person in the nation be exposed to continuous research and training for creating sustainable economic development in Nigeria.
