Item EFFECT OF JOB ENRICHMENT STRATEGIES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES IN KAMWIRE HOLDINGS ILORIN, KWARA STATE, NIGERIA(Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria., 2023-12) AMOSA, Jimoh Rafiu; SALMAN, Abdulrasaq; SULEIMAN, Ahmed Aremu; ABOGUNRIN, Abiodun PeterThe complexities of modern business operations demand a clear departure from the traditional ideological orientation of prioritizing the use of monetary rewards as the most cherished motivational tool to obtain workers concurrence and higher performance but rather a more robust work-related employee performance oriented strategies one of which is job enrichment. This is important to avert job monotony, boredom and all forms of operationally induced workplace dissatisfaction that is associated with highly bureaucratic and over-controlled authority structure. Therefore, this study sought to examine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee performance with reference to KAMWIRE holdings Ilorin. Other specific objectives of the study were to: examine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee engagement; and (ii) to determine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee quality of work. The population of the study is 1,621 out of which 318 respondents were given questionnaire through a multi stage selection technique. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) were adopted for analysis. The results showed that job enrichment strategies have positive and significant effect on employee engagement as well as quality of work in the organisation studied. In conclusion, job enrichment strategies have positive and significant effect on employee engagement as well as quality of work. It was recommended that organizations should improve on the latitude of opera rational freedom of their employees as well as enhance their skill variety through inter and intra departmental postings to eliminate operational and workplace boredom for improved employee and organisational performance.Item RESEARCH AND TRAINING AS PANACEA FOR UNLOCKING HUMAN POTENTIAL FOR SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA(Ilorin Journal of Human Resource Management, 2017-03-01) ABOGUNRIN, Abiodun Peter; ALIYU, Mustapha Olanrewaju; ABOGUNRIN, Omolade OyindamolaResearch and training has occupied a position of priority in corporate world for achieving set goals but what has not been common in the quest for developing nations like Nigeria to create sustainable economic development is optimal use of potential hugely deposited in human resources. Yet, people of a nation are the ones responsible for the development of their lots through continuous improvement on themselves. In this paper, research and training is conceptualized linking economic development to research and training of human resources in all facet of economic life. The paper suggested that human potential available in every person in the nation be exposed to continuous research and training for creating sustainable economic development in Nigeria.
