dc.descriptionNous voyons que, par exemple, depuis l’arrivée des Blancs sur le continent africain, beaucoup de événements s’y sont produits. Pendant l’ère coloniale et dans l’œuvre comme L’Enfant noir de Guinéen, Camara Laye, par exemple, nous y voyons la peinture de la société traditionnelle africaine, la prépondérance de la famille africaine, la concordance entre les structures sociales et la capacité de l’homme noir à s’adapter à un monde qui évolue. Ce même thème de la réalité africaine se voit développer et même accentuer dans d’autres romans de la même époque comme Le docker noir de Sembène Ousmane, Le Pauvre Christ de Bumba de Camerounais, Mongo Beti, Une vie de boy de son compatriote Ferdinand Oyono, L’Aventure ambiguë de Cheikh Hamidou Kane, entre tant d’autres.en_US
dc.description.abstractAbstract For a long time now, many African writers treat several themes ranging from the changing nature of the African society to the conflict that results therein. Among such writers is Amadou Koné, author of Le respect des morts. This play reveals some of the element of African tradition and some of the element of modernity and the conflict that emanates from the contact of the two civilisations. The thematic approach is used in this study to examine the themes of African tradition and modernity and the conflict therein. It is found that Amadou Koné is not totally against African tradition; rather, he is of the opinion that some of the African practices which are outdated be scrapped.
