A detailed questionnaire was mailed to operators of SMEs in the manufacturing sector. 104 of the respondents correctly filled and returned their questionnaires representing a response rate of 82 per cent. This was as a result of the decline in wastages, less frictions and greater output that can compete favourably in the international market.
