| dc.description.abstract | This investigated into primary school pupils' attitudes towards science in Abeokuta South Local Government Area. descriptive research design was adopted. two research questions were generated with one research hypothesis. the sampled population for the study comprised 20 pupils each were randomly selected from 5 public primary schools in the local government area making a total of one hundred (100) pupils. the instrument used for data collection was a self-designed questionnaire. frequency counts and percentage were used to describe the demographic data of sampled respondents and also to answer the generated research questions. also, independent t-test was used for testing the research hypothesis. findings showed that, primary school pupils have negative attitude towards science ; and there is no significant difference in the attitude of male and female pupils towards science in Abeokuta South Local Government Area. It was recommended that, the learning environment should be designed in such a way as to allow pupils to attain scientific knowledge and gain more positive attitude towards science; and that parents should allow pupils to choose which classes they enroll in increases motivation and independence which in turn increase a pupil's cognitive processing and performance. | |
