dc.description.abstractThis study focused on the problems faced by Women in accessing basic literacy education in Kwara State. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The sample for the study consisted of 200 respondents randomly selected from different centres in the State. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire titled: ''Problems and Prospects of Women access to basic literacy education in Kwara State(PPWABLEQ). Data collected was analyised using descriptive statistical technique and weighted mean score of 2-5 as a criterion mean score for decision. Conclusion was drawn and recommendations made among others, government s at all levels should encourage Women to participate in basic literacy education, and that government at all levels should provide necessary tools needed for the effective implementation of the programme to achieve the desire goals.
