In this study, school variables were grouped in terms of class size, teachers' workload and teachers' qualifications. To this end, this study related these variables to teaching and learning process and the extent to which each influence learner's performance in economics. The study was a descriptive research of the survey type. Sample consisted of ten randomly selected secondary schools, out of the thirty seven schools in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. The instrument was a nineteen items teachers' questionnaire together with the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) scores of students in Economics between 2008 and 2012. Three hypotheses were tested using chisquare statistical tool. The outcome of the analysis of data collected from this study indicated these variables influenced students' performance in senior school certificate examinations in economics. It was recommended amongst others that more qualified economics teachers be recruited to handle the subject to reduce the teachers' workload; schools should also maintain ratio 1 teacher to 40 students in the class to reduce overpopulation.en_US
