This research was carried out at the Teaching and Research Farm of the University of Ilorin, to evaluate the use of some fungi as bio-agents in management of nematode pests of two varieties of maize. The experimental design was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), having two plots and four treatments with Fusarium oxysporum, Phomopsis sp., their combination and the control. Treatments were replicated three times. The varieties used were EVDT 99 and Oba Super II. The initial soil nematode population was increased by chopping galled roots of Celosia argentea into the soil. Two seeds per hole were planted out on the ploughed and harrowed ridges and were later thinned down to one seedling per stand. Data collections were done for a period of nine weeks and at harvest. The results showed that the plants on the treated plots performed significantly higher (P=0.05) than the control in terms of height, number of branches, yield and the reduction of soil nematode population and root galls. This study, established that at certain levels of application, Fusarium oxysporum and Phomopsis sp. exhibited fungal endophytes against parasitic nematodes of plant. Therefore, there is a need to identify the strains of the fungi which were used in this study in order to increase and incorporate them in sustainable agriculture
