| dc.description.abstract | Abstract Education being a very important tool for individual and national development cannot be neglected and undermined. This study was conducted to determine the influence of teachers’ characteristics (teacher’s qualification, experience etc) on effective teaching and learning of Agricultural science. The design adopted was a descriptive design of the survey type. A sample of 100 students was randomly selected from 10 schools in Asa, Kwara State. The instrument used was a structured questionnaire divided into five sections. Frequency count was used to answer the research questions, while Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypotheses. The findings of the research showed that teachers qualification, teaching experience, method of teaching and their attitude all have significant influence on effective teaching and learning of Agricultural Science. Based on the findings, it was recommended that during delivery of instruction, teachers should use a variety of teaching methods/equipment; Teaching and learning materials and ICT tools including computers should be made readily available in schools by the authorities and teachers should endeavor to attend workshops and seminars to improve on their teaching skills and effectiveness. | en_US |
