Since the inception of Shiites radicalism in Nigeria, the group‘s activities have been devastating on the security of the Nation. The radical ideology of the group was adopted from the Iranian ideology of Islamization of the entire country. The aim of the Shiites is to oust the existing government in Nigeria and install an Islamic government. This ideology made any existing government in power to wage war against the group. Shiites have been engaging in incessant violent attacks on the security agents in the country while demanding for relevance. In an effort to reduce or stop the menace of the group, the government has been detaining the Shiites leader, El Zakzaky and recently adopted judicial combat with the leader. Holding to the argument of the conflict theory and on the conclusion that the agitation of the Shiites is certainly impossible, the government should adopt civil strategies like inclusive dialogue (with the group through the Muslim Council of Nigeria) and less military efforts to stop the menace of the Shiites. However, this measure must urgently be taken to prevent Shiites from evolving into a more deadly group like the bokoharam, though it is historically traced to Shiites in Nigeria.en_US
