Leadership in Nigeria has been characterised by insincerity and lack of vision and this has impacted negatively on Nigeria's economy. Nigerian leaders over the years have failed to adequately fund and develop vital sectors of the economy such as energy, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and the solid minerals sector. Leaders in Nigeria have also not developed sustainable administrative systems and institutions that can stand the test of time and that cannot be manipulated by self-seeking leaders. the neglect of these vital sectors that would have driven the economy and created job opportunities as well as empowering the teeming population of young people in the Eastern Niger Delta Region is a failure of leadership in Nigeria.en_US
