Abstract

This study explores the intricate dynamics of the Muslim community and the process of socialization in the contest of South-Western Nigeria. The region, known for its rich cultural diversity and historical significance. Is home to a sizable Muslim population. Understanding the dynamics of this community and its socialization pattern, is crucial for appreciating the complexities that shape the social fabric of the region. The research employs a multidisciplinary approach , incorporating sociological, anthropological and historical perspectives to analyse the various facets of Muslim life in south- western Nigeria. Socialisation, a key aspect of community development, is explored in-depth focusing on the roles of family, educational institutions and religious organisations in shaping the identity and values of individuals in the Muslim community. The findings of this study reveal that the nuanced exploration of the dynamics of the Muslim community and socialization in South-Western Nigeria provides insights that can inform politics, educational practices and community development initiatives aimed at fostering cultural harmony and preserving the rich heritage of the region.
