dc.description.abstractThis study, investigated utilization of ICT for effective teaching and learning of physical education in secondary schools in Kwara State. Descriptive research design was used for the study. The population for this study comprised all physical education teachers within the study area. Multistage sampling techniques of stratified, purposive and random sampling procedure were used to select 250 respondents. A self-constructed questionnaire designed on a four likert rating format was employed for the study. The instrument was validated by three lecturers in the Departments of Human Kinetics Education and ICT University of Ilorin. The reliability of the instrument was established through test re-test method using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) statistic. A coefficient of 0.85 was obtained. The instrument was administered by the researchers. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics for personal data of the respondents while inferential statistic of Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the hypotheses set for the study. All the hypotheses were rejected. The findings revealed that there was a significant relationship between the use of computer and effective teaching and learning of physical education in schools, there was a significant relationship between use of projector and slides with internet facilities and use of laptop on effective teachings of physical education. Based on the findings, it was recommended that schools should be equipped with computer that are connected with internet facilities for effective teaching and learning of physical education, school’s management should endeavor to provide laptops for physical education teachers to teach the subject so as to enhance teaching and learning of the subject, while students should be encouraged to use laptop and internet facilities at their leisure hours.en_US
