Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) is one of the agencies established for starting, resuscitating and growing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria as a means of rural industrialization, poverty eradication, job creation and sustainable livelihood. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the operations of SMEDAN in resuscitating, facilitating and promoting the access of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to all the resources required for their growth. The research employed library and desk research. Therefore, secondary data were used for this study, and were sourced from SMEDAN books of records as well as related journals. The findings of the study revealed that a total of 195,326 people were trained at the various programmes on capacity building organised by SMEDAN across the country in 2005. It was also reported that Oyo State had the highest number of participants at the workshop/training on poultry farming. In the same vein, Lagos State had the highest number of participants at the workshop on mobile phone repairs. The study concludes that owing to the increased rate of unemployment in Nigeria, SMEDAN has serious challenges ahead. It was recommended that efforts should be intensified by the Government towards the provision of adequate infrastructural facilities and creation of conducive business environment.en_US
