This paper observes that the phenomenon of climate change, which has left devastating blows on the cultural development of African people is occasioned by man's incessant quests for modernity as opposed to his adherence to the indigenous cultural practices. consequently, this paper presents theatre as a potent mechanism that is capable of reducing the negative consequences of the phenomenon of climate change, which has elicited very serious concern among environmental expert and the enlightened people of this continent. the study employs pragmatic theoretical approach, using ''Theatre for Development' TFD for the methodology. The objective of the work is to showcase theatre as an effective tool, an Alternative Development Medium (ADM) that can provide ameliorative avenue that will reduce the effects of the climate change for the sustenance of cultural development in Africa. Arising from the above, this paper concludes that theatre, using the Theatre for Development (TFD) approach is an effective design for solving all societal problems.
