Abstract

This study examined University staff perception of the causes and social implications of educated youth unemployment in Nigeria. The population for the study comprised all 99 Faculty of Education Lecturers in the University of Ilorin. Questionnaire titled University Staff Perception of the Causes and Social transformation o f Educated Youth Unemployment Questionnaire was used to elicit information from the respondents. The (USPCASEYUQ) revealed that outdated school curricular and lack of findings of the study emphasis on University certificates, neglect fo skill employable skills, too much of equal educational opportunities were the major acquisition training in Nigeria. Findings also revealed that causes of educated youth unemployment for school completion and civil i n c r e a s e i n i n s e c u r i t y , r e d u c t i o n i n i n c e n t i v e s o f e d u c a t e d hyout disorder were identified as the major implications that government in Nigeria. The study therefore recommended that employment opportunities for teaming educated policies and should provide of the government to review the educational youths and the ability that will afford the youths the opportunity curriculum in such a way a n d make them to be self-reliant.
