Abstract

Over the years, several efforts made in Nigeria to improve the performance of its civil service for national development and to overcome its current economic crisis appear to be fruitless. This is partly due to the increasing unethical behaviour among civil servants. Although corruption is an endemic phenomenon, this paper focuses on the manifestations of corruption and moral decadence among civil servants which are against administrative ethical norms and which this paper concludes tends to destroy trust, confidence and political stability in Nigeria.
