Abstract

Abstract Society is a conglomeration of different concepts which entails people, institutions and relations. As social beings, humans cannot live in isolation hence they have to interact with one another which is one of the characteristics of the society. Religion, on the other hand , looking at it from the etymology of the word means something that brings people together or binds people together. The relationship between these two phenomena have been a subject of discourse among scholars for a very long time.Emile Durkheim, a sociologist, is one of those scholars who studied the relationship between religion and society and submitted that both concepts are instrumental to each other. .......
