In this study, the influences of radiation and chemical reaction on unsteady, two-dimensional, laminar, boundary-layer free convective Rivlin-Ericksen flow of incompressible and electrically conducting fluids past a porous vertical plate with a periodic suction are discussed. The dimensionless governing equations of the flow field comprising of continuity, momentum, energy and species equations are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. The effects of various parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration fields are presented graphically and discussed. It is detected that velocity and temperature decreases with increase in radiation parameter.en_US
