Abstract

This study was carried out to establish the perception of adult and children on the influence of child labour on the physical hazard of children in Zaria metropolis. The population of this study comprises of working children and all categories of adults in Zaria metropolis. This study instrument was validated by the jurors in Medical Sociology, Health Education and Community Medicine departments of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Two separate questionnaires was distributed to 200 Adults and 200 working children on the market places, Bus stops and on the streets of Zaria Metropolis making a total study population of 400 participants. Data analysis was done using inferential and descriptive statistics and the results of the study shows that there is significant difference between the perception of adult and children and the influence of child labour on the physical hazard of children in Zaria metropolis. the study concluded that Government agencies, Relevant Non-Governmental organizations and religious bodies should sensitize the public emphasizing on the Physical hazards associated with child labour.
