dc.description.abstractAbstract This study examined educational leadership and instructional best practices in North-central, Nigeria. The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between educational leadership and instructional best practices. To achieve this, two hypotheses were formulated and tested. Descriptive research design was used for the study. Sample of 375 head teachers and 384 teachers were proportionally selected in the seven states that make up north-central with the use of Research Advisor (2006), table of determining sample size of known population. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select head teachers and teachers of the sampled public primary schools so as to ensure that every member of the population has equal opportunity and right of being selected. T-test statistical analysis was used to analyse the collected data. The findings of the study showed that there was no significant difference between provision of instructional resource, staff development and instructional best practices in Nigeria. It was, therefore, recommended that head teacher and teachers should continue to provide and use appropriate instructional resources for effective instructional best practices as to ensure efficient staff development in order to increase productivity of staff.en_US
