dc.description.abstractCareer Aspiration is a professional path of intent to follow and maintain, a lifelong process that demands accurate perception of ability, potential, and achievement In this vein, this study compared the career aspirations and learning outcomes of student-teachers in University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Proforma with 0.83 reliability index was used to elicit information. Frequency and percentage were used to answer the research questions while chi-square was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. The study found out that majority of social studies education graduating students who aspired for education programme at their entrance level bagged 2nd-Class Lower in University of Ilorin. Also, there was no statistically significant difference in the learning outcomes of Social Studies student-teachers that aspired and those that did not aspire for education at their entrance level in University of Ilorin in University of Ilorin It was recommended that Government should make teaching profession profitable and rewarding for teachers by revisiting their conditions of service.en_US
