Abstract
Cryptography has gained more attention from researchers due to the need to enable the security of
messages sent over an unsecure network. Message sender want to ensure that only authorized receiver is
able to interpret the message sent. So, even if a message falls in the hands of another person other than
the authorized recipient, the message is still secured. This proposed system shows how a symmetric key
algorithm (Twofish) is used to encrypt messages to make it secure when sent over the network. In this
paper, the Twofish algorithm with a 16 bits character key length is implemented using JAVA
programmimg language. The result is efficient because it gives a different ciphertext each time encryption
is performed.
