The chapter examines narratives being employed for reportage of kidnapping and cultism by broadcast journalists in Kogi and Kwara states, Nigeria. Employing framing and agenda-building theoretical frameworks, the paper identifies sources of the narratives, framing of the narrative, consequences of the narratives on the human rights of the victims and perpetrators, and ways for improving broadcast media coverage of these violent menaces for overall security of the country.
