| dc.description | Wanted is a political satire that chronicles the history of leadership in Nigeria since colonial era to the civilian rule in 1999. The desire of the citizenry for good leadership and the inability of the people who seize power to give it as a result of greed, corruption, ethnicity, dictatorship, abuse of office, and so on are the dynamics of the politics of the Nigerian nation since its inception. The need for good leadership which has not been given by successive occupants of leadership positions is what the opera demand should be met. The author and composer employ the folk operatic idiom with the use of different Nigerian and Western musical styles to convey his message. | en_US |
