dc.description.abstractABSTRACT This research work was carried out on Intervention of NHIS on Senior Citizens for Sustainable Community Development in Ilorin Metropolis. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study consists of all the senior citizens in Ilorin metropolis. The study used purposive sampling technique to select 100 respondents, but only 98 of the questionnaire were returned. Data was collected through the use of instruments, entitled “Questionnaire on Intervention of NHIS on Senior Citizens for Sustainable Community Development on Ilorin Metropolis”. It was fashioned on four Liker rating scale of Strongly Agree [SA], Agree [A], Disagree [D], and Strongly Disagree [SD]. Four research questions and three hypothesis were formulated to guide the study and analyzed through the use of frequency counts, percentage, T-test and One-way ANOVA. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference in the effectiveness of the intervention of NHIS on senior citizens for sustainable community development in Ilorin metropolis based on gender, educational status and age since the outcome of the findings shows that p-value 740 is greater than 05 (p > 05). Hence, the Ho is accepted. Keywords: Intervention, NHIS, senior citizens and sustainable community development.
