| dc.description.abstract | Nigerian Arabic poetry tends to lean more toward religion than culture. This is mainly because the poets are Muslim scholars within society, and they often write poems with the primary aim of spreading the religion of Islam. Among the most prominent Muslim poets in Nigeria is Abubakar ‘Īsā Alabi, who made significant contributions to the field of Arabic poetry. This study examines some of the poems he composed to confirm that Nigerian Arabic poetry, despite being written in the Arabic language and addressing some cultural topics, is predominantly Islamic in nature. The study employed a combination of analytical and descriptive research methods to collect and analyze data. The findings reveal that Arabic poems have a more Islamic character than an Arab cultural one. | |
