dc.description.abstractAfricans have always been said to be a distinct and endowed race, one of the reasons is becue of our indigenous and unparalleled knowledge in the use of plant and herbs as food and medicine even before the aluminance of foreign made drugs and products which have threatened to reduce the knowledge heritage and ute of African discovered plants The Moringa oleifera plant is a very special plant because of its many abilities. It has potential to reduce high rate poverty, malnutrition inadequate health care suppis poor nutrition, low income level and food insecurity in Africa. There is a need to boost the kwwledge and usage of different plants which were used by African forefathers but have been lost over the years. The study was conducted in Nigeria, which is the most populated country in Africa. In Nigeria there is an increasing, but not enough, awareness of the different opportunities and sues of the Moringa oleifera tree, hence, the reason for this study. The study was conducted through the use of well-structured questionnaires. The stul ured The Herfindahl Hirschman Index () to analyze the distribution and market share for moringa leaves and seed among farmer/processors actors and to examine the distribution and market shares of research institutes across the Moringa value chain. The study revealed that the market share of leave was concentrated compared to thatof seed. The following recommendations were made; there is a need for different institutes and research bodies to involve themselves in more production innovation and research on Moringa to boast it use and improve the country's health care and food security, and conrequently Africa as a whole. In addition, the creative African apirvt should be channeled to create better processing and innovative methods for value additions and processing of Moringa productsen_US
