Abstract
This paper presents a novel methodological framework for research in Islamic studies that addresses the evolving nature of Islamic thought and practice. The framework integrates interdisciplinary perspectives, embraces new technologies, and emphasizes contextual analysis. The first component involves engaging with disciplines like sociology, anthropology, history, and political science to gain a comprehensive understanding of Islamic studies. This interdisciplinary
approach enables the exploration of the social, cultural, and political dimensions of Islam. The second component leverages modern technologies, such as digital humanities tools and data analytics, to analyze large datasets and uncover patterns and trends within the Islamic world. This use of technology allows researchers to explore previously inaccessible topics. Contextual analysis is another crucial aspect of the framework, examining Islamic practices and beliefs within specific historical, cultural, and social contexts to develop a nuanced understanding of Islam's diversity and adaptability. Overall, this paper offers a modern methodological approach that integrates interdisciplinary perspectives, utilizes modern technologies, and highlights the significance of contextual analysis. By adopting this framework, researchers can contribute to a comprehensive understanding of Islam in the contemporary era.
