dc.description.abstractthis study examines the relationship between corporate governance practice and the survival of micro-enterprises in ilorin metropolis of kwara state. Primary data was used to elicit responses from the selected micro-enterprises through the administration of questionnaire. A total of one hundred and twenty copies of questionnaire were administered across the selected micro-enterprises and upon completion and return, only ninety eight copies (representing 82%) were found to be useful. Kendall-tau (non-parametric) correlation technique was used to measure the degree of relationship between the two variables measured at 5% level of significance. the study reveals that a strong positive correlation (r=0.72) exists between the practice of the practice of the principles of corporate governance and the financial performance of selected micro-enterprises must adhere strictly to the tenets of corporate governance relevant to their operations and management of micro-enterprises must act diligently in a way that is beneficial to both internal and external stakeholders.en_US
