dc.description.abstractInternal displacement. resulting from insurgency has emerged the worst human tragedy ravaging the North-East, Nigeria since 2009; with much effect on women and young persons. The education of the school-going adolescents has been mostly affected because many school-going adolescents lived for long time En various internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps where school activities are often virtually difficult. This study therefore investigated school-related problems of displaced adolescents as expressed by (heir parents in IDPs’ camps in North-East, Nigeria. Thus, the population for the study consists of all displaced parents in IDPs’ camps in North-East, Nigeria while a total of 43 participants were selected using purposive sampling technique. The quantitative method was adopted using both the Focus Group Discuss ion (FGD) and Individual Interview techniques in two camps. The findings revealed that the major school-related problems of displaced school-going adolescents as expressed by their parents are: inability to participate in classroom activities; inability o write examinations conducted by external bodies such as the Junior and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations; and inability to access educative materials. The study thus recommended that: mobile school service should be made available for school-going adolescents in LOP camps; and Examination Agencies should be mandated to conduct examinations for displaced school-going adolescents at possible time.en_US
