dc.description.abstractThe level of ethnic and religious violence is attested to by the dramatic rise in the incidences of ethno-religious conflicts and the volume of destruction of lives and property that have accompanied them as well as the tension which such conflicts have generated in the interaction between different ethno-religious groups in the country. The main objectives was to theoretically examine the nature and sources of ethno-religious violence in Nigeria. The paper conclude that certain measures such as education, dialogue, poverty alleviation and effective policing should be put in place to reduce ethno-religious conflicts in Nigeria.en_US
