Specially, Islam essence of education is to develop it adherent to realize his status as khalifatulahi to whom Allah has promised the authority of the universe. The research type is historical having its focus on religion and education, sustainability and development, purpose of education, Islam and Education, Islam and sustainable development, concept of religion, contribution of various religious organisation e. t. c. Religious education, specifically, Islamic views as regard sustainable development cut across various institutions such as education, banking, economy empowerment, and political as well as commercial realm. Conclusions are drawn that religious education if properly display contributes to spiritual and sustainable development such as building of schools, hospitals, financial institutions et-cetera there by generating income for citizen.
