It further established the reasons for the proforence. In addition to these, it finds out whether the parents' preference significantly varied on the basis of their education and residence. Thus, the population for the study consists of literate and illiterate parents residing in rural and urban areas of the LGAs. From the population, cluster sampling technique was usod to sample a fotal of 437 parents, across their randomly selected places of work or trading. A researcher-made instrument titled Preference for Private and Public Basic School Questionnaire (PPPBSQ) was used to olicit noedod data. The instrument was validated using tost-re-test approach.
