M,2024-05-032024-05-032017https://uilspace.unilorin.edu.ng/handle/123456789/13305The study assessed the impact of culture and religion on maternal health behaviour of childbearing age women in Sabon-Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The objectives were to examine the impact of culture and religion on maternal health behaviour among childbearing age women in the study area. Women of childbearing age formed the target population for the study. Two hundred and five (205) respondents who were selected from health facilities using multistage sampling technique were used. A researcher-developed questionnaire was used. Three experts ascertained the validity of the instrument. Split-half method was used to determine the reliability of the instrument and Spearman Rank Order method was used to compare the results which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.75r. Data were analyzed using percentages for the personal data and non parametric of Chi-Square was used to test the hypotheses for the study at 0.05 alpha level. Findings revealed that culture (p=111.62>21.03) and religion (p=103.65>21.03) have significant influence on maternal health behaviour]. Based on the findings, it was concluded that culture and religion have significant impact on maternal health behaviour among women in the study area.
