Hence, the significance of interactivity in the online civic participative discourse cannot be underemphasized because it is a key element that is central to the proper and effective functioning of a democracy which ultimately has implication on voting choices and political participation. This study, therefore, examines the quality of audience participation in online newspapers in Nigeria by analyzing readers’ comments following the Panama Papers Scandal, reported by the online newspaper, Premium Times.
