The occurrence of dispute and the eventual mechanisms of settlement goes a long way in determining the nature of interactions and relationships among the stakeholders in the world of work. While there are series of statutory dispute settlement mechanisms and their acclaimed efficiency, industrial conflict are still permanent feature of work organizations in Nigeria. This situation threaten harmonious industrial relations in the country. Consequently, this paper is a contribution to the existing literatures on dispute settlement mechanisms and also a means of improving harmonious industrial relations in Nigeria.
