It highlights teachers’ roles in actualizing the implementation of the new curriculum and the challenges in respect of the opportunities in acquiring sufficient knowledge and understanding on the part of the would-be teachers for the new programmes as contained in the new curriculum. Specifically, it places emphasis on the areas of pedagogy and learning for the benefits of the learners in respect of their development for practical skills and competence required in the new curriculum. It made suggestions and concludes that the relevance of teacher education that would facilitate quality assurance for the teachers, the learners and the nation at large should not be undermined.
