The Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) using Schlumberger array with the maximum spread of 200 m and partial curve matching/computer iteration techniques were used to interpret the data with the aim of accurately predicting the depth to basement and aquifer. A total of ninety five VES were carried out and thirteen boreholes constructed. The predicted depths to basement from VES and the actual depths from the drilling logs show a good agreement with each other and with results obtained from literature. The results of the research also confirmed the already known geological units of the western Nigeria Basement Complex Terrain and the drilling exercise was successful.Groundwater, AquiferIterationGeoelectric measurementFractured zoneThe Use of Electrical Resistivity Survey in Locating Aquifers in Ilorin Area of Kwara State, Nigeria.Article
