The heat transfer coefficients at the cast metal/steel mould interface during solidification of squeeze cast aluminium were investigated using the inverse heat conduction method. The heat transfer coefficients were determined by both experimental and numerical methods. The results show an increase in the value of heat transfer coefficients with applied pressure and a decrease with high die pre-heat temperatures. The numerical heat transfer coefficients were in good agreement with the experimental values.ensqueeze castingtemperaturesapplied pressuredie pre-heatEvaluation of some squeeze cast parameters of aluminiumArticle
