I.2021-05-052021-05-0520141596-9398https://uilspace.unilorin.edu.ng/handle/20.500.12484/4949This study is a descriptive survey design which aimed at investigating the influence of family factors on adolescents' academic achievement. Out of the total population of 13,149 students, nine hundred and twenty-five (925) Alvan Students from three randomly selected schools (Arts, Natural Science and Education) constituted the sample for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled Family Factors, and Academic Achievement Questionnaire (FF AAQ). Two research questions were formulated. The instrument used was validated by experts in Measurement and Evaluation, using Pearson Product Moment Correlation statistics and a reliability coefficient of 0.62 was obtained. Data collected were analyzed using percentage and rank order. The results revealed that marital happiness found to be a prominent factor in the factor that influences adolescents' academic achievement (98.37%). It was also revealed that high income caring parents pay their children's school fees as at when due than low-income earners (88.97%) and that students whose parents abstain from drinking are more likely to perform better academically. It was recommended that parents should try as much as: possible to keep their homes at peace because their happiness motivates their children in school. Parents should be hardworking and find something doing to earn a good living to take proper care of their children.
