Among the feeding methods, breast feeding is common and of particular importance. This study investigated the attitude of nursing mothers in Ilorin metropolis towards exclusive breast feeding. The study examines whether or not moderating variables such as educational attainment and occupational status would influence the respondents’ view of exclusive breast feeding. Descriptive design was adopted for the study. A total of 300 respondents were drawn from the target population using purposive random sampling techniques. A researcher developed questionnaire on attitude of nursing mothers in Ilorin Metropolis towards exclusive breastfeeding (ANURTEB) was used to collect data for the study and the data was analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at 0.05 alpha level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that 80% of the respondents had negative attitude towards exclusive breast feeding while 20% had positive attitude towards exclusive breast feeding in Ilorin metropolis. The result of the study also showed that there was a significant difference in the attitude of nursing mothers in Ilorin Metropolis towards exclusive breast feeding on the basis of educational attainment and occupational status.
